Joe established Cook Communications in Prague in 2003 and has since overseen its growth across Central Europe. He entered Public Relations in 1999 after many years as a journalist, including seven years covering Central Europe for The Economist during the 1990s. He has been a regular contributor to the Financial Times and was regional correspondent for Business Central Europe (a member of The Economist Group) until 1999. He was launch Editor-in-Chief of Ziarul Financiar in 1998/99, which remains Romania’s leading daily business newspaper. Joe has more than 25 years experience in media and communications.
Romania Country Manager
Alex has been with Cook Communications since 2008 and has more than 20 years experience in journalism, marketing and public relations. He has worked on high profile campaigns such as the Swiss Banks Holocaust Victims’ Assets Litigation, which led to a $1.25 billion settlement. A former journalist with the Associated Press in the USA and Romania, Alex has a Masters degree in economics, journalism and political science from the University of Texas.
Poland Country Manager
Annie has overseen the growth and development of our Warsaw office since joining Cook Communications in 2012. During her 20 year career in Poland Annie has been a British diplomat, entrepreneur and, prior to joining Cook Communications, worked in investment banking. Annie has worked with a wide variety of international and Polish clients, institutions, government departments, agencies and the media. Annie holds a Masters degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
Bulgaria Country Manager
Miroslava joined Cook Communications in 2008 after six years as Press and Public Affairs Officer at the British Embassy in Sofia. She has worked on a wide range of clients including Rolls-Royce, Siemens, Selex and Angelini, and works closely with the British Bulgarian Business Association. Miroslava began her career as a journalist with the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and 24 Hours, one of Bulgaria’s largest daily newspapers. She holds a Masters degree in journalism from Sofia University.
Account Manager, Hungary
Viktoria runs our operations in Hungary. A PR professional of 10 years, she spent two years supporting Samsung Electronics from the agency side and later joined the company’s telecom department to help build Samsung’s success story in Hungary. Viktoria joined Cook Communications in 2012 and has since worked with international clients such as Marks & Spencer.
Marizel has worked for the marketing department of The Economist Intelligence Unit, the Campari drinks group, UNIDO and the OSCE. Marizel holds an MBA from the University of Kent and a Degree in politics & international relations from Warwick University.
Caroline has more than 25 years’ experience in journalism and corporate communications. She wrote for the German news agency dpa and The Economist Intelligence Unit from Bratislava, Istanbul, Riga and Tallinn, and has worked in corporate communications in the Swiss financial and pharmaceutical sectors. She has a Master degree in Journalism and Communications from Stanford University.
Account Manager, Czech Republic & Slovakia
Vit has 11 years’ experience in PR and marketing communications, both on the agency and corporate side. A large part of his communication work was in the corporate and financial services sector, and he has also worked in sectors such as real estate, automotive and IT. He holds a Masters degree in International Trade from the University of Economics in Prague.
Senior Account Executive, Czech Republic & Slovakia
Before joining Cook Communications in 2016 Anna worked as a translator and English teacher for five years. She supports a wide range of clients in the IT, media, design and private equity sectors, and also maintains an archive for a litigation project. Anna studied English and American Studies and has a Bachelor‘s Degree in Art Therapy.
Project Manager, Czech Republic & Slovakia
Boba is a project manager at Cook Communications who takes care of matters regarding our offices across Central Europe. She came to Cook Communications with 17 years’ experience in marketing, advertising & sales, customer relations, event management and logistics at a variety of international companies. As an entrepreneur, Bo founded and sold a beauty and cosmetics company.
Account Manager, Poland
Anna recently joined Cook Communications, bringing more than 11 years’ experience in corporate and crisis communications, media relations and CSR. During ten years with Solski Communications (formerly Solski Burson-Marsteller) Anna worked with a wide variety of international and Polish clients from different sectors including aviation, defence, chemical and FMCG. She also spent 3 months in Brussels supporting pharmaceutical clients in their public affairs activities. Anna holds a Masters degree in public relations and media marketing, and a postgraduate diploma in marketing management.
Account Executive, Poland
Andrzej joined Cook Communications in 2018. He has over six years’ experience as a project manager for think tanks, conference and event organisers as a communications and event manager for a wide range of clients from the IT&telco, energy, financial and industrial sectors. Andrzej holds a Masters degree in International Relations from Jagiellonian University, Kraków.
Account Executive, Bulgaria
Before joining Cook Communications in early 2016, Darina was for five years a financial reporter, writing for two of Bulgaria’s biggest daily newspapers, Trud and Monitor. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a Master’s degree in European Integration from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
Daniel has 20 years’ experience in defence journalism, video production and strategic communications. He was a journalist and editor with the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) and Defence & Security, was a consultant to the UK’s Channel 4 television company and was a producer at EAI Productions. He has worked with various government departments as well as NATO and other institutions in the Western Balkan countries, the UK, the US, the Netherlands and Norway.
